I was watching "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" last night, and it got me thinking. I know all these young girls out there getting pregnant at age 15,16,17.. Like, I guess it's your decision if YOU WANTED to have a child at that age, but in most cases, these girls don't.
I understand that you and your partner may be in "love" and want to have sex. But I don't think you're thinking of the possible consequences. Are these 15 year olds really ready for a baby? Most likely not. Idk, but if I were a 15 year old sex craving machine, I'd at least want to be protected so that I can have all the sex I want, and not have to worry about anything like STDs or pregnancy.
I'd think that teenagers nowadays would be smarter and be more cautious. Are they not aware that there ARE such things called BIRTH CONTROL?! There are so many forms out there, and you can even use 2 at the same time, for extra protection. From the top of my head, there's: condoms, the pill, diaphragm, spermicide, the shot, withdrawal, and abstinence. Take your pick(s).
GIRLS, IT'S 100% PREVENTABLE. So there should be no reason for all these unwanted pregnancies.
And these services are even offered at family clinics like Planned Parenthood at a low cost, or even free. The thing is, just seek for help. I even heard there's such thing as the morning-after pill, or Plan B. Like, if you and your partner had unprotected sex, there's this pill you can take in the next 72 hours or something that'll reduce your chances of becoming pregnant.
Idk. I'm just sayin'. But for me, I'd rather be safe then sorry.
